Charlie Johnson is Principal Trumpet with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra. He also performs as soloist and choir accompaniment at numerous church services in the New York City area, notably St. Thomas Church and The Church of the Holy Trinity.

Previously, Johnson performed as Principal Trumpet of the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and as Section Trumpet and Substitute Trumpet with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the CSO Summer Opera Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (with which he has performed on numerous recordings). For several seasons, he played Third Trumpet with the Dayton Philharmonic and Second Trumpet with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. He also performed as an off-stage musician with The Metropolitan Opera.

Johnson has a degree in trumpet performance from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He studied with Eugene Blee, Phil Collins, and Robert Sullivan in Cincinnati and with Mel Broiles at The Juilliard School in Manhattan.

The father of four girls, Johnson grew up in Jacksonville and Anniston, Alabama. He currently resides in Connecticut with his girlfriend and their Portuguese water dog.
